DECHEMA

Introduction

The Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology e.V. (DECHEMA) is a modern interdisciplinary society with more than 5,000 personal and institutional members (including about 500 SME’s) whose activities cover wide areas relevant to environmental protection and process industries. Coordination and support of DECHEMA’s activities is carried out by about 190 employees. DECHEMA is member of the German Federation of Industrial Cooperative Research Associations "Otto von Guericke " (AIF), with its central concern to promote applied R&D for SME’s and a network covering approx. 50,000 SME’s, and about 800 associated research institutions. DECHEMA hosts two secretariats for international (ISO) and European (CEN) standardisation and hosts the German standardisation (DIN) working group on laboratory apparatus.

The competences

DECHEMA has a long term experience with the following activities: planning of research and development; project co-ordination, project management, project evaluation; advice on policy and legislation, support for research; coordination of European and national networks and projects including support of dissemination and exploitation of scientific results; exhibitions.

The Goals in IntEnant

DECHEMA’s work focuses on communication and dissemination of the innovative concepts to be developed throughout the relevant EU process industries and research institutes.

That means DECHEMA works on the following topics within INTENANT:

Establish and use efficient communication with the project partners
Distribution of information to relevant experts
Develop efficient tools to increase public awareness about the project’s objectives
Formal organisation of the meetings of the project
Organization of topical training workshops
Set-up and maintainance of INTENANT public website
Publication and update of an INTENANT leaflet
